1. A community for respectful conversation
Driftly lets people discover bottles and talk using an ordinary account profile. Treat the person receiving your words as someone entitled to safety, privacy and a choice about responding. These rules apply to profiles, nicknames, bottles, replies, chats, any enabled media, and behavior that uses Driftly to harm others. The current limited test is for adults aged 18 and over; an adult-only test still has strict child safety rules.
Disagreement, personal experiences and lawful criticism are welcome when expressed without abuse. Sharing personal difficulties is allowed, but Driftly is not therapy, medical advice, a crisis line or an emergency response service. No one owes you a reply, affection, money, personal information or continued contact.
2. Protect children
Do not create, request, possess for distribution, share, link to or promote child sexual abuse or exploitation material, including synthetic, altered, illustrated or AI-generated depictions. Do not groom children, solicit sexual contact, trade sexual material involving minors, arrange trafficking or sexual exploitation, or sexualize someone who is or appears to be underage. A claimed artistic purpose or another user’s request does not make exploitation acceptable.
Report suspected child exploitation promptly with the relevant account or content reference. Do not download, duplicate, forward or attach the abusive material to an email report. We may restrict the content or account, preserve necessary evidence with restricted access and make reports required by applicable law. A specific statutory reporting contact and release-market procedure must be established before a wider release; the current support mailbox is not a real-time rescue channel.
3. Respect consent and sexual boundaries
Pornography, explicit sexual content, sexual solicitation and promotion of sexual services are not allowed in this test. Do not send unsolicited sexual remarks or material, pressure someone into intimacy or request intimate images. Sexual violence, non-consensual intimate material, threats to disclose intimate content, voyeurism and sexual extortion are prohibited, including manipulated or generated depictions.
A past reply, relationship or exchange of images is not consent to new contact or publication. Stop when someone declines or withdraws. Do not bypass a block, restriction or refusal using another account, a new channel or a third person.
4. No harassment, hate or exposure of private information
Do not threaten, intimidate, stalk, bully, coordinate harassment or repeatedly contact someone against their wishes. Do not encourage others to target a person or celebrate their abuse.
Do not attack or dehumanize people, promote discrimination, or encourage exclusion or violence because of characteristics such as race, ethnicity, caste, nationality, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation or gender identity. Discussing a policy or belief does not excuse targeting people with threats or slurs.
Do not disclose or threaten to disclose another person’s private address, phone number, email, identity documents, precise location, login information or private conversations without permission or a lawful justification. Do not assemble identifying details to make someone easier to locate or harm. Public availability elsewhere does not make doxxing acceptable.
5. No violence, exploitation or dangerous encouragement
Do not make credible threats, incite violence, recruit for violent extremist activity, praise violence to encourage repetition, or facilitate trafficking, exploitation or other serious harm. Do not circulate graphic violence for shock or enjoyment or instruct someone to injure another person.
Do not encourage, romanticize or provide actionable instructions for suicide, self-harm or dangerous challenges. Respectful discussion of distress and recovery is allowed. If there is immediate danger, contact local emergency services or someone nearby who can help; posting on Driftly does not summon assistance. Do not diagnose others or present yourself as a professional crisis responder when you are not one.
6. Be honest and do not exploit trust
Do not impersonate a real person, staff member, official body or another account. A nickname is allowed; using one does not authorize identity theft, fabricated credentials or deceptive relationships. Do not run scams, solicit verification codes or passwords, pressure people to transfer money, distribute phishing links or malware, or direct them to a fraudulent investment or job opportunity.
Do not spam, mass-send repetitive content, create accounts to evade enforcement, manipulate engagement or scrape personal data. Do not exploit vulnerabilities, evade authorization or publish another user’s data obtained through a defect. Report a security concern privately without accessing unrelated records.
AI-generated or edited content must not deceptively impersonate a person or fabricate evidence. Clearly identify it where the distinction matters to a recipient’s understanding, and obtain necessary rights and consent. The current service does not provide an enabled AI reply integration. Authorized demonstration or operator-created content must be clearly labeled; it must not pose as independent real users or fabricate popularity, reviews or relationships.
7. Respect ownership and context
Share content you own or have permission or another lawful basis to use. Do not upload stolen images, copyrighted work you cannot share or another person’s confidential material. Fair discussion and legal exceptions depend on context; calling something a meme does not automatically make it lawful.
For an ownership complaint, identify the work, the allegedly infringing content reference, your relationship to the right holder and a way to contact you. Do not include unrelated private records. We may seek clarification and allow an affected user to respond where appropriate and lawful.
8. Reporting, blocking and immediate safety
Use a report or block control where available. If it is unavailable, or the concern involves an account you cannot access, email [email protected]. Include the account or content reference, a concise description and the minimum evidence needed. Report in good faith; do not fabricate evidence, coordinate false reports or misuse the process to silence lawful disagreement.
Blocking helps limit further contact within supported features; it does not delete every historic copy or prevent contact outside Driftly. Avoid responding to threats or sending money. Protect your account, and seek local help where a person’s immediate safety is at risk. We do not promise round-the-clock human review or a fixed response time in this test.
9. Enforcement and appeals
Depending on severity, context, repetition and available evidence, action can include restricting visibility, removing content, limiting functions, revoking sessions, suspending or closing an account, or escalation required by law. Severe child exploitation, credible threats and comparable serious harm can justify immediate restriction. Removal does not necessarily establish that a crime occurred, and an automated flag or successful upload does not prove content is safe.
Where feasible and lawful, an affected user should receive the main reason and a way to challenge the action. To appeal, contact the email above with your account reference, the decision and relevant context. We should consider a credible correction or explanation; an appeal does not guarantee restoration. We may withhold details that would reveal a reporter, endanger someone or defeat a lawful investigation. A suspended account still has a channel for privacy and deletion requests.
We apply these rules to relevant conduct rather than treating a person’s language, region or identity as proof of wrongdoing. Enforcement should be proportionate and documented. We may update these Guidelines with a new version and appropriate notice; material changes must be reflected in the published record.
